The 2011 Western Region Captive Insurance Conference, with its regional captive insurance partnership that included Arizona Captive Insurance Association (AzCIA) and Utah Captive Insurance Association (UCIA) and the new partner of Missouri Captive Insurance Association (MOCIA), was a great success! This year the 2011 Western Captive Insurance Conference was held September 27-29 at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City, UT.
With AzCIA, UCIA and MOCIA collaborating and focusing on the second western region event, members of the captive community were able to increase their educational and networking opportunities, gain greater visibility and access to a larger number of prospective clients and captive experts, while minimizing the cost of attending multiple conferences to do so.
- The sponsorships surpassed last year's Western Captive Round-up.
- Attendance was much better than expected.
- Everyone had positive responses to the educational sessions and were able to enjoy it in a beautiful Grand America Hotel. The name of the hotel says it all.
- Everyone enjoyed the two keynote speakers; Dr. Patrick M. Byrne, CEO and Chairman of O.co (fka Overstock.com) and Dr. Jeffrey Durmer, co-founder and Chief Medical Officer for Fusion Sleep.
- For those who were unable to attend, you missed a wonderful conference.
The 2011 Western Captive Round-up provided an excellent opportunity to build new relationships and expand existing ones by attracting a larger number of captive professionals overall. Our superior educational programs were thought-provoking and designed with captive owners and risk managers in mind. It was a successful collaborative effort.
Next year keep this regional conference in mind. It offers many great opportunities for captive professionals to spotlight their companies as an industry resource to captive owners and risk managers by sponsoring or exhibiting at the conference.
